There is really no well-documented study of effects of pregnidoxin when taken during early pregnancy (ref. http://www.doctorndtv.com/faq/detai…?).

However I believe a parent's instincts are usually correct and if you suspect your baby is having health problems related to the pregnidoxin your previous doctor should be informed. I would also probably consult a new doctor.

You have said that your doctor has recommended it, so there is no need to worry. If at all you really worry about this matter then you can directly ask your doctor itself.

This is given for nausea, vomitting and dizziness. Of course you are pregnant and that is the reason why your doctor has recommended it.

Your baby will not have any side effects. But may have like drowziness and dry mouth. So drink lots of fluids and stay in rest.

It wont have any weight problem...

Please take note that I'm not a doctor.

I honestly don't know what EXACT side effects it has on your baby post delivery, although pregnidoxin, which is actually meclizine, shouldn't be taken during pregnancy. I wouldn't know why it was prescribed to you, but whenever in doubt, always ask for a second opinion.

My girlfriend was prescribed the same thing for her dizziness and morning sickness, but when we looked it up on the net, we were compelled to get a second opinion that, ultimately, the 2nd doctor told her to not take it and just endure the natural process of pregnancy. So, I'd advise you to do the same. Get a second opinion from another doctor. Here are some links that may help you out:

hi tanu, tab.pregnidoxine,a generic drug contains meclizine hydrochloride. This is an antihistamine drug ,used for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting or dizziness associated with motion sickness especially in first 3 months of pregnancy when excess and uncontrollable vomtings(hyperemesis gravidarum) failed to control with regular medications and dietary adjustments. pfizer company who manufactures this drug states as follows - Reproduction studies in rats have shown cleft palates at 25-50 times the human dose. Epidemiological studies in pregnant women, however, do not indicate that meclizine increases the risk of abnormalities when administered during pregnancy. Despite the animal findings, it would appear that the possibility of fetal harm is remote. Nevertheless, meclizine, or any other medication, should be used during pregnancy only if clearly necessary.weight problems to baby after delivery never mentioned any where. as you mentioned that you took this tablet with doctors recommendation it must be definitely safe dose.so with safe dose side effects on mother and baby are very very less.so no need to worry. If you continue regular antenatal care which includes periodic measurement of your weight, uterus examination, fetal heart sounds, urine, blood tests and ultrasound examination any problem to mother or fetus can be identified and treatble properly. so dont worry about side effects of pregnidoxin and continue your antenatal care and enjoy your motherhood soon. good luck

I think you might have taken this tablet for Morning sickenss(nausea&vomiting during pregnancy). stuidies on experimental animals have shown that the drug causes cleft palate (hare lip) in offspring of female.(these are only suggestive). Not to worry about it ,if you have already taken it.If you are having severe nausea and vomiting there are so many other tablets and measures to control it.anway dont worry about it.

Women who become pregnant should stop taking it and notify their doctors immediately if they are taking it without the consent and prescription of gynecologist. Ginger tea or candy can help. Fresh ginger is the mildest and safest form is helpful to manage morning sickness etc. Generally doctors prescribe low volume tabs to control vomitting etc.

I very much doubt their will be any side affects as the doctors say that the first trimester is your time to get used the idea of being pregnant (grace period). I dont think you will have anything to worry about as if it affected the baby your body would terminate the pregnancy naturally (mscarry) and seeming you are still healthy and pregnant there isnt much to worry about! congrats
