Hi,Can anyone tell me the guidelines to perform the vaibhava lakshmi pooja?

Place the 'Shri Yantra' (Photograph) in front of you in the puja room. Before starting the Vaibhava Lakshmi Vrata, one should have a look at the 'Shri Yantra' with devotion and touch your hands devotedly to your eyes. Then one should bow down one's head to the photograph of 'Shri Yantra' and the 'Eight incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi' and touch with hands to one's eyes. Place a plain red piece of cloth on Aasanam (seat or mat) in front of the yantra. Spread a handful of rice on the piece of cloth. Now place a copper or brass kalash (pot shaped vessel) filled with water on the spreaded rice. Keep a small cup (Arghyam cup) with a silver or gold coin on the Kalash. One can also keep a rupee coin if one has no silver or gold coin. Now apply sandalwood paste and kumkum to the kalash and coin. Offer red flowers (preferably). One should recite the following shlokas : Shri Mahalakshmi Ashtakam Namasthesthu Mahamayey ЕЕЕЕЕ LAKSHMI STHAVANA SHLOKAHA ( IN PRAISE OF GODDESS LAKSHMI) Yaa rakthaambuja Vaasini Vilasini Chandaanshu tejaswini !! 	Response from: pallavi sidella, Registered Member on Ammas.com i will tell u the way i did on a friday i would fast all day long and in the evening take bath wear red dress and cook some sweet rice for goddess .for pooja place a red cloth and wooden stool or were ever u want to keep the lakshmi devi idol and put some rice before the godess on which put the ragi chombu filled with water and put an gold article inside it on top of it put the 2tamalapakulu and put some haldi kumkum chandan pray with only red flowers if possible and read the book of vaibhava lakshmi pooja .u can eat the prasadam after the pooja is over and pray God to full fill ur wish.if i am not wrong u get the procedure as well in that book and after 11 fridays u have call atleast 5 married ladies and give pasupu, kumkuma,2tamlapaku,poka,flower,fruit, and the pooja books as well if u like. Men and women can observe this vrat. Vrat should be observed for 11 or 21 Friday as per one's oath. Vrat should be observed on Fridays only. One should be on fast on the day of observing the Vrat. It is preferred to have meals (veg) once a day and the sweet dish that is offered to goddess Lakshmi. If for any cause the vrat is not maintained, i.e.; (if one has to go on a tour or any consequent untouchability owing to death in the family or if the women is in menses on the Friday) they can observe the vrat the following Friday at one's residence only. At the time of the celebration of the Vrat, ie; on completing 11 or 21 Fridays as decided at the time of oath, one should give the book "VAIBHAV LAKSHMI VRAT" to 7,11, 21, 51 or 101 women according to one's own desire or take a printout and distribute copies of this Vaibhav Lakshmi Vrat and thus the vrat of goddess Vaibhav Lakshmi would spread more and more? 	Response from: vs , Registered Member on Ammas.com I have performed this pooja several times in the past and reaped benefits. You have to plan for either 9 fridays or 11 fridays, preferably consecutively ( skip during periods) The pooja is done on friday evenings and can be done by both men and women. Vaibhav lakshmi pooja books and cassettes are available in temple stores. Begin the friday morning, cleaning the pooja room/place and all the pooja items, vaibhav lakshmi's photo ( or any lakshmi goddess) . Gather flowers (loose and strung) , fruits for the pooja. Eat very light for the day and preferably skip rice. Prepare sakara pongal for naivedhyam. In the evening during sunset, have bath, and begin pooja preparation. Keep the akshada,camphor,yellow threads and oil lamps and one ghee lamp ready. Adorn the photo with garlands, take a brass/copper/silver vessel with camphor-tulsi water, place it on a plate of rice and rupee coins in the centre. Place the godess photo and adorn the vessel also with turmeric, sandal paste and vermellion. Begin the pooja as given the book/cassette. they also tell what to offer during the sequence of chanting. Chant the mantras offering, flowers, water etc. In the end read the vaibhav laksmi's story as to how she helped a family get tid of their problems. Perform naivedhyam, break coconut and pray for fulfillment of your desires and wellbeing. Then offer any sumangali (married women with living husband) betel leaves and turmeric/vermillion. On the final day (9th/11th friday) procure 9 or 11 sets of vaibhav lakshmi pooja book / cassette and other offerings. Invite 9 or 11 or more sumangalis, perform the pooja and offer the prasad and betel leaves,turmeric and vermillion. This red blouse piece cloth can be used for all the Fridays.
