Normally Norethisterone (Primolute N)is the drug of choice to postpone the menstruation period for certain days.

How to take Primolut N to alter the timing of menstruation: The recommended dosage is 1 tablet of Primolut N 3 times daily for not longer than 10-14 days, beginning about 3 days before the expected menstruation. Bleeding will occur 2-3 days after having stopped medication. For example, the estimated date of your next period is on the 15th, and the diving trip is scheduled for the 16th for, say, 2 days. You can start taking the medicine daily during the period of 12th to 17th (6 days). The actual period will occur on 19th or 20th.

hi shine How are you You have not mentioned why you want post pone your periods..its better to consult gynecologist... but i give you some advise The medicine... Primolut N, also known as Aygestin in USA, is used to treat irregular, painful or heavy periods. It is also used in the treatment of endometriosis, premenstrual syndrome, and to delay periods. Manufactured by Schering AG, Germany, it contains 5 mg norethisterone on each tablet. The monthly bleeding can be advanced or postponed if particular circumstances require this; however, please note that this medication remains restricted to those cases in which there is NO POSSIBILITY OF EARLY PREGNANCY in the cycle concerned.

How to take Primolut N to alter the timing of menstruation The recommended dosage is 1 tablet of Primolut N 3 times daily for not longer than 10-14 days, beginning about 3 days before the expected menstruation.

Reasons for not taking Primolut N You should not take this medicine if any of the following apply to you:

1. You are pregnant or think you may be pregnant. 2. You have (or are recovering from) a liver disease and the blood tests of liver function have not yet returned to normal. 3. You have certain types of jaundice (Dubin-Johnson or Rotor syndromes). 4. You have (or have ever had) liver tumours. 5. You have blood clots in the legs, lungs, eyes or elsewhere, or have any medical condition which makes you more at risk of developing clots.

Side effects Like the case of any medication, it is wise to be cautious. Side effects that have been reported (albeit rarely happens) include slight nausea, a worsening of epilepsy and migraine. At much higher doses, changes in the normal function of the liver have been reported. Should any of these problems arise, consult your physician immediately. * http://home.intekom.com/pharm/scher… * http://www.diversalertnetwork.org/m… on the pill. How can I postpone my period?

When you are on the pill postponing your period can easily be achieved. There are several ways to do it, also depending on the brand you are using: If you take monophasic combination pills (all pills being the same color) you start a new pack as soon as you finish your series of 21 tablets. So you skip the “week off” in which you normally have your period. If you use a 28-day pack (the last 7 pills being “reminder” pills with no hormones) you take 21 pills, skip the last 7 pills, and go on with a new pack. When you are on the second pack you can stop whenever you are ready to have your period or you can finish the pack if you want to. Never make the pill free period longer than a week. If you use bi- or triphasic pills (21 day pack) you skip the pill free period and go on with the pills of the new pack that have the same hormones/colour as the last pills of the old pack. If you want to have your period earlier you can interrupt your pill taking. But only after you have taken 7 pills in a row from the pack. You stop taking pills. After 2 or 3 days your period will start. Then you can start a new pack. Never make the pill free period longer than 7 days!!! If you are still in doubt about what you have to do (or you use the mini-pill) phone your doctor for instructions.

There is a medication that you can take for the express purpose of postponing your period. It is called NORETHISTERONE 5mg and it is taken in the following way. One tablet three times a day beginning three days before the expected period is due to begin. It is then taken every day in the same dosage until such time until it is convenient for the period to begin when you stop taking the tablets.
