This information comes from my own knowledge.
Mrs Lata Thakur, United States ! Your query has been sent to me also by ammas.com and hence I am answering the same. The mail that you have received is based on a program that has been written by ammas team. The program must have been framed in such a way --that an email should be sent to the council member wherever the rating is at a variance --in respect of number of queries or percentage of variation from the rating of other council members in respect of questions/a question. I can understand the bad feeling/anxiety such mails cause you. As a fellow council member I can only request/suggest not to have such feelings. 1) Please rate only a few queries (high valued/highly interesting queries) for the next few days. Kindly note the rating given by you for various answers -- (first line - last line may be noted )--over a few days. After seven days compare the rating given by you and final rating given for such answers. Where there is a variation on a high level, you can attempt to revise your ratings for future answers. If you have been giving a low rating for answers as compared to higher rating given by other council members -- then in future you can give higher rating. The reverse of this situation, is also possible -- wherein you may have to give lesser rating for answers rated in future. 2) The above may not be possible in respect of queries marked "Private" because we may not be able to see the answers and rating openly. The links given also can guide us to some extent. Now, My rating has been below 3 for a long time. So why am I getting these mails now? Ans: You are getting mails--possibly due to the software written. This serves the purpose of helping the council member to be cautious while rating future answers/queries. Second, how about providing us the option of giving the reason for our different rating? Ans. The basis on which the present system of rating works out is -- an average of rating of council members is taken. This is on the principle that council members rate answers using same standards, logic, approach to issues and hence an average taken may be correct representation of the council members who have rated the answers/queries. Hence provision of justification may not help. Even if justification is given how can that be evaluated and found useful is again another issue. best wishes
