Fingers that change color when they are exposed to cold temperatures or stress are a sign of cyanosis. Cyanosis is a bluish discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes from lack of oxygen.

that mean there is compensation of blood supply to those fingers. it could be due to reynauds phenomenon (for some there is contraction of bloodvessels in cold). if it happened after cold exposure warm your hands.visit nearest clinic immediately.

hi..dark in the sense 'blue'? if this is the case,veins in that area are constricted.Generally it happens when u feel cold..i.e,peripheral blood vessels will constrict due to cold.In this case,if u rub the parts that will come to the normal color.If that is 'black',blood supply to the particular area is decreased or stopped.It is called necrosis if the blood supply is stopped and the tissue becomes dead...
