hi ,can anyone tell me some home remedies to reduce weight,i am already taking honey and lemon in a cup of luke warm water.

Its good you are consuming Lemon and water in the morning. Go for a brisk walk, Just 15-20 minutes every morning and see the weight just fall of you.

Avoid heavy foods, fatty foods.Eat what you like, but just eat 25% of what you eat normally. The best way is to eat in a small plate. Pile food on a small plate, that gives a feeling of a lot of food and ensure that you leave atleast a few spoonful of food in the plate, dont finish all the food. Drink atleast 2-3 litres of water daily. Eat 2 Green apples daily, one after lunch and other after dinner. Green apples have fat absorbing capability. they will absord good amount of fat.

find other people with same problem and work together. You will get each others enegry and motivation to work on the problem.

If you can go swimming, then, there is nothing like it. Your weight will disappear in no time.

hi sophi There are many home remedies which you can try to reduce weight.Anyway you are taking honey and lemon just add a pinch of black pepper to it and try this for atleast one month to see the results.You should take it on empty stomach

Eat a tomato as a part of breakfast try this for atleast 1 month.It is a safest remedy you can try.Tomato is a best remedy for obesity.

Cabbage is considered to be an excellent home remedy for obesity.Substituting a meal with cabbage salad would be the simplest way to stay slim.

The leaves of jujube or Indian plum are another valuable remedy for obesity. A handful of leaves should be soaked overnight in water and this water should be taken in the morning, preferably on an empty stomach.

Trifala is good for losing weight.Mix a spoon of trifala with honey (OR) just milk and drink it off Trifala is treated as a best remedy for obesity.

Drink lukewarm water after meals.

Dear Sophi,

Cabbage is considered to be an excellent home remedy for obesity. Recent research has revealed that a valuable chemical called tartaric acid is present in this vegetable which inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat. Hence, it is of great value in weight reduction. Substituting a meal with cabbage salad would be the simplest way to stay slim. One or two ripe tomatoes taken early morning as a substitute for breakfast, for a couple of months, are considered a safe method of weight reduction. They also supply the food elements essential to preserve health.

The leaves of jujube or Indian plum are another valuable remedy for obesity. A handful of leaves should be soaked overnight in water and this water should be taken in the morning, preferably on an empty stumach. This treatment should be continued for at least one month to achieve beneficial results.

Finger millet is an ideal food for the obese, because its digestion is slow and due to this, the carbohydrates take a longer time to get absorbed. By eating preparations made of ragi, the constant desire to eat is curbed, thus reducing the daily calorie intake. At the same time, ragi supplies an abundant quantity of calcium, phosphorus, iron, Vitamin B1 and B2 and prevents malnutrition in spite of restricted food. Instead of eating only 2 more meals during the day like lunch, dinner, it is advisable to eat 4-5 more small mini-meals spaced between 2-3 hours apart during the day. Fasting on lime juice-honey water is highly beneficial in the treatment of obesity. In this mode of treatment, one teaspoon of fresh honey should be mixed with the juice of half a lime in a glass of lukewarm water and taken at regular intervals.

Drink a glass of boiled water after every meal. Spices like ginger, cinnamon, blackpepper are good for loosing weight. Drink ginger tea two or three times.Mint is beneficial for loosing weight.Have some salads or vegetables with it. Avoid intake of too much salt, which plays main role in increasing weight.

TRIPHALA CONCOCTION :-An effective remedy to reduce weight.

Ingredients:-

Triphala powder Honey Method of preparation :-

Put a table spoon of Triphala powder in a vessel and add a glass of water in it. Boil this until the water reduces to 1/4 th of the total quantity . Allow this concoction to cool. Filter the concoction and add a table spoon full honey to this . This should be consumed in early hrs of the day in empty stomach.

.SPICED RICE MANDA.:-another method to reduce weight.

Ingredients:-

Rice Water Cumin seeds Dry Ginger powder Pepper powder Long pepper powder Method of preparation :-

1. Take equal quantities of spices mentioned above (3-6) and grind them to a coarse powder.

2. Cook 1/4 teaspoon of this powder with two table spoon of rice in one big glass of water. Decant only liquid portion of this preparation add a pinch of salt to it . This can be used instead of soups. Best of luck!

dear, along with what u r doing i mean honey n lemon, u must do one more thing , u should eat more vegitables n fruits n less oilly stuff n all things. use more garlic in ur food, i mean consume garlic ,put in everyfood u eat ,thats cos garlic reduces or burns cholesterol , and as ur cholesterol is lowered ur weight will also lower.

Remember there is no fast and easy way to weight loss. The "best" way to lose weight is by combination of dieting and aerobic exercise. A maintained schedule of running and dieting will result in weight loss.

Here are some tips for you:

a. Change yours eating habits (i.e. start eating smaller portions of food) before if you ate a full plate of food try eating 2/3 of a plate instead.

b. 1. Substitute aspartame for sugar

2. Try eating 3 or 4 smaller meals during the day rather than 2 large ones

3. Eat your main large meal at midday with the other meals much smaller in content

4. Don't eat heavy meals late in the evening as the body wont have time to digest it so it ends up stored as fat in your body.

5. Balance your meals out during the day so in one day you have a mix of protein, carbohydrate and vitamins

6. Drink lots of water during the day and before, during and after exercise, you should drink at least 8 big glasses of water per 24 hours

7. Drink alcohol in moderation

8. Stop smoking if you smoke or cut down

9. Eat more fiber i.e. pulses grains nuts, pasta, brown rice, cereals, fresh fruit

10. Eat more vegetables as part of your diet

11. Eat less dairy products or choose those with less fat content i.e. cottage cheese

12. Try steaming or poaching food instead of frying it, frying adds calories by the bucketful

13. Cut down on Red meat and eat more lean or better still chicken and fish instead

14. Use low fat oils in cooking i.e. sunflower, corn or Mazola

15. Cut down on your salt intake, there are hidden salts even in tinned foods

16. Try substituting carrots or fresh fruit instead of biscuits and sweetmeat when you have a craving for something in between meals.

17. Drink semi or skimmed milk as opposed to full cream Simply choose a diet, which is low in fat and cholesterol, moderate in sugar and salt and high in fiber but at the same time has a variety of everything thus making it a balanced diet.

c. Start taking up regular aerobic (cardiovascular) exercise if you don't already (i.e. at least 3-4 times a week) This is aimed at those who want to burn fat and convert it into lean muscle

Dear madam,

Home remedies for Weight reduction can be as follows: Consumption of Fenugreek seeds in your regular diet. Consumption of Curry leaves in any form. Including Kokum or Garcinia powder as a garnishing over salads and in soups.

Last but not the least EXERCISE. Burn calories by yourself and it sure to reduce and dont depend only on remedies. The real remedy is physical exercise daily for minimum 30 mins slowly increased to 1 hour per day. There are enough supplements ijn the market but only a supervised program can deliver better result. Visit an Ayurvedic Centre near to your place and check about a particular treatment program called Udvarthan which can also be practised by yourself at home after learning. regards, Dr.Krishna Swamy

Steamed or boiled vegetables Whole grain bread or whole wheat chapatis (Indian bread) and a glass of buttermilk. Roasted cumin seeds, green coriander leaves, a little salt and some grated ginger mixed in the buttermilk. Coconut water, Dry fruits, Lemon tea, Fresh vegetable soup. Whole grain bread or chapatis, Steamed vegetables, Seasonal fruits except banana and apple.Fasting on honey and lime- juice is highly beneficial in the treatment of obesity without the loss of energy and appetite. Without moving your shoulders, slowly move your head and neck in a wide circle. Do this half a dozen times. tand up straight with legs apart and both arms stretched straight out in front of you, at chest level. Without moving your hips, swing your arms (parallel to the floor) as far to the left as you can - and then to the right. Do this 20 times. tand up straight with legs apart and arms at your sides. Without moving the rest of your body, circle your left arm backwards. Repeat this with your right arm. Do this half a dozen times. Place hands palms down on the front of your thighs. Keeping your legs straight, lean forwards and slowly slide your hands down your legs, as close to your ankles as possible without straining. Then move them back up your legs and finish by holding your arms straight up above your head. Repeat this half a dozen times. tand up straight with your weight on your right leg. Place your right hand on a chair or table, for support. Swing your left leg forwards and backwards, in a pendulum motion. Do this 20 times, then repeat the exercise with your right leg. Lie on your stomach with your legs straight and your arms by your sides. Slowly lift your left leg off the floor, as high as possible without straining. Do it slowly - do not jerk your leg upwards. Then slowly lower your leg. Repeat the exercise with your right leg. Do this half a dozen times, per leg.Exercise shouldn't be a temporary fad. It should be something you do for life. So ensure its spontenuity.

Dear Sophi,

it would be wonderful if there really was a remedy for weight loss, but hey - then no one would have a weight problem. The truth is, unless you eat less and excercise more, nothing you take will help. Improve your diet and start walking daily, increasing speed and distance with every day and you will soon see results.
