Sour vegetables and fruits, also non-veg etc should be avoided during fasting hours. Except these items all the fruits items can use.

Dear Priya,

on Santoshi Ma Fridays you should not have anything remotely sour - e.g. curd, cream cheese, lemons, limes, grapefruits, vinegar, sour fruits like green apples, etc. Do not have egges, fish, anything with meat, onion, garlic.

You can enjoy plenty of milk, bananas, sweet fruits nd dry fruits, nuts, kheer (payasam, payesh), milk sweets, rice cooked with some lentils and ghee.

Enjoy the puja!

On the day of doing the Santoshi Ma Puja you can have milk and fruits (Bananas). Please don't eat apricots. You have to be careful not to eat anything sour that day.

You can have meals once in the evening. You should not eat garlic, onion, tamarind, tomato, lemon, curd etc.

Please see these links in ammas.com. Queries and answers are about what food can be taken while doing Santoshi Mata Vratam

Dear Priya,

I think so. They are not sour isn't it? Your are supposed to leave out only the sour things. So you should be able to take papaya and apricots. All the best
