If you were talking about your habit of masturbation twice a day or more on a regular basis, that would be much more likely to cause the sleepiness you mention. May be you should see a doctor, or at the very least consider eating a healthier diet. Physical check up for loss of vitamins and proteins, etc. Never touch the intimate parts of your body except during normal toilet processes. Avoid being alone as much as possible. Find good company and stay in this good company. If you are associated with other persons having this same problem, you must break off their friendship. Never associate with other people having the same weakness. Don't suppose that two of you will quit together, you never will. You must get away from people of that kind. Just to be in their presence will keep your problem foremost in your mind. The problem must be taken out of your mind for that is where it really exists. Your mind must be on other and more wholesome things. When you bathe, do not admire yourself in a mirror. Never stay in the bath more than five or six minutes -- just long enough to bathe and dry and dress and then get out of the bathroom into a room where you will have some member of your family present. When in bed, if that is where you have your problem for the most part, dress yourself for the night so securely that you cannot easily touch your vital parts, and so that it would be difficult and time consuming for you to remove those clothes. By the time you started to remove protective clothing you would have sufficiently controlled your thinking that the temptation would leave you. If the temptation seems overpowering while you are in bed, get out of bed and go into the kitchen and fix yourself a snack, even if it is in the middle of the night, and even if you are not hungry, and despite your fears of gaining weight. The purpose behind this suggestion is that you get your mind on something else. You are the subject of your thoughts, so to speak. Never read pornographic material. Never read about your problem. Keep it out of mind. Remember -- "First a thought, then an act." The thought pattern must be changed. You must not allow this problem to remain in your mind. When you accomplish that, you soon will be free of the act. If you can control the mastrurbation habit then I think you can control your sleeping tendancy to a great extent. The stress/exertion from masturbation is resulting the need for a rest/sleep. As so many of us identified self pleasuring for good sleep. Some times it act as sleeping pill. In this sense if you can avoid masturbation then you can control you from sleep. For all these you have to have control over your body and mind. Whenever you feel the need for a sleep then just wake up from the seat, go for a round or a cup of tea, washing face and feet.

Well, study and sleeping have very positive relationship. It is not only my personal experience, but also my friend and the other people whom I talk about it have the same experience. And yes of course masturbation also brings sleep. It works like a tranquilizer. But I think your main problem sleeping my be not due to masturbation, but due to the study it self. It is not only your problem, but a majority of students have the same problem. First of all I suggest you to avoid excessive masturbation it is a very dangerous thing for health. Try to reduce it to 2 or 3 time a week. Here are some suggestions for you hopping this will help you. In this regard the main thing is determination. Through determination you can do every thing. Divide your subject in two groups i.e. theoretical and practical (such as mathematical). When your are fresh give time to theoretical subjects and when you feel tired are sleepy then give time to practical subject. Do not study continually; whenever you fell tired give some time to relaxation by doing some light exercise or just walk for about 10 to 15 minutes. Coffee and tea (source of caffeine) are also helpful in making one relax and also help in avoiding sleeping, bur tea or coffee should be drink in moderation. Almost after each hour or when ever you fell tired have sprinkle of water on your face and feet. Some people like to listen music while doing practical subjects, which keep them fresh. coz due to the lack of attention and sinceriety in ur studies u feel like that and whiule studying everyone falls asleep coz ready books makes ur eyes lazy and asks or demands ur brain to close them but if ur fully attendtd to ur program and are aware of ur situation u will never fall asleep it is hard to fall off from thgis habit but there are several ways to get our of it while u fall asleep keep ur book aside have a small walk or read while u walk for 1-2 hours and if u feel exhausted retire from the work and continue later wash ur face with cool water befor u commence to study and then repeat it every 30 minutes and in between eep ur book aside and have a bit bidy stretch and small routine sudden sharp exercise which wiil sudeenly wake up ur reticular activating syste and i wont feel asleep onehting never hear to music while u study and always create a sound free enviuronment while u study ok

Hello Smitha, Sleeping for 6-8hrs is quite enough, but as you said you are having a problem with your excessive sleep, so best thing would be to change your life style, you should indulge yourself in sports or other extra-curricular activities this would keep your mind busy rather than masturbating, though it is natural activity but you know if it is harming you then you should avoid it. Make a particular time to sleep and make it a point not to sleep before that time, you will have to develop a strong will power. Developing Will Power and Self Discipline One way to develop and improve these abilities is to practice doing some disagreeable things in your daily life. Your mind and feelings will probably oppose doing them, nevertheless, do them. Let me explain. By doing something you do not like or are too lazy to do, you overcome your subconscious resistances, train your inner powers and gain inner strength. Muscles get stronger by resisting the power of the barbells. Inner strength is attained by overcoming inner resistance. Yes masterbation gives u some kind of pleasure ,in that pleasure u feel tention free relaxed and sleepy.Masterbation is quite common in young single adults.but if u feel exccessive u can try to divert your mind.U keep busy your self where u wont get time to think of all these things. and sleep and study are like twins.all most all feel sleepy while studying. caffeine prevents sleep .drink coffee,tea or any caffeine contained drink while studying.wish u all the best.

Dear Smitha, There could be 2 possible reasons for your excessive sleep. These are as follows: 1. You could actually have the excessive sleep condition also known as Narcolepsy. Nothing to be scared about though. In the United States alone, about 200,000 people have been reportedly diagnozed with having this sleep disorder. Here is some info on Narcolepsy. What are the symptoms of narcolepsy? The most common and debilitating symptom of narcolepsy is excessive sleepiness. People with narcolepsy often describe their excessive sleepiness as fatigue, tiredness, or lack of energy—in addition to falling asleep when they should be fully awake and alert. Other, less frequent, symptoms of narcolepsy include: Sudden, brief loss of muscle control Inability to talk or move for brief periods of time while falling asleep or waking up (sleep paralysis) Vivid dream-like experiences while dozing or falling asleep (hypnagogic hallucinations) What are the consequences of narcolepsy? People with narcolepsy often experience: Inability to perform daily activities Difficulty paying attention or concentrating Compromised social and family life Difficulty keeping a job Low self-esteem 2. The other cause of excessive sleepiness could be underlying depression. have you been stressed out lately? every human being needs a sleep of 4to 7 hrs for better life.You are sleeping more because it seems you are the happiest person on earth with no tensions whatsoever and no work,no activity,no excercise and nothing,.Just eat and sleep.well nothing wrong .just you have to spare time for other activity like going for shopping,finish college studies in time, go and visit parks whereyou can be with nature,do gardening and have good friends.Just involve your self with so many other activities.With change of attitude you will sleep naturally and happily but without any complications.Remember Complete all work,then sleep.

Hi, I think masturbating twice a day could be the reason y u r tired. Try to give a gap to that. As ppl say try to divert your attention to something else. When you read something take the book in your hand walk and read out loud. that way u'll feel less sleepy. Sleeping 4 14-15 hrs is not at all good whatever age gp u r in

Dear Smitha, first of all, sexual pleasure is not really connected to sleeping a lot, so do not worry about that. Look, you might have a sleeping disorder for which you would need to see a doctor, but these are very rare and unfortunately the major cause of long sleep in students remains good old laziness. The more you sleep, the more you need it. Nothing can help you unless you make an effort yourself. If you continue sleeping like this (max you need is 8-9 hours), you will damage your studies and personal life and imagine how many hours of your young life you are wasting just sleeping! Go to study to a library and have plenty of coffee and force yourself, most importantly! Good luck.
