Query from: Natasha, UK, 02/09/04
Topic: COOKING      Submitted on: Ammas.com
Hi. Here in UK there is a shop called Ben's cookies, don't know, maybe it is also there in USA. Anyway, this shop makes the best cookies you can imagine. They are pretty expensive though and I would like to make them at home. My husband would be amazed as well! The thing is... Cookies from all recipes I tried come out... well, just cookies! But Ben's ones are very big and soft, almost liquidish inside, only crispy on the thin layer outside. They seem to be very buttery and with large pieces of melting chock. Ladies, please can anyone advise how to make such cookies? Thanks a lot in advance!

Hello Natasha,

I found 2 authentic Ben's Cookies Recipes!!

Ben's Chocolate Chip Cookies Ingredients: 175g granulated sugar, 175g light brown sugar (or anything similar), 175g butter or margarine, 1 egg, vanilla essence, pinch of salt, 300g flour 100-200g nuts, chocolate or whatever tickles your fancy (dark chocolate adds a classy taste).

It's a pretty simple recipe and always gets satisfying results.

Mix together the sugar and butter until nicely blended. Add the egg, beat together further, add vanilla essence. Sieve the flour into the mix while stirring slowly, be careful not ruin it now. Add a pinch of salt. When mixed it should be quite thick, add the chocolate and any other extra ingredients, keep some aside to sprinkle on top so everyone gets a healthy share of chocolate. Triple Chocolate Cookies: The recipe has pictures & is too descriptive & long. The source is http://www.woolmouth.co.uk/recipes/…

Good Luck!
