Tandoori chicken Ingredients: Chicken: 800 gms
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt to taste
1.5 tsp: red chili
Garam masala powder: 1.5 tsp
A pinch of tandoori color
Curd: 200 gms (hung and beaten)
Oil for brushing Method: Clean and wash the chicken.Prick the pieces all over with fork or knife.
Rub the pieces with salt, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, and lemon juice and keep aside for 30 minutes.
Add a pinch of tandoori color to the lightly beate curd. Mix and add marinated chicken pieces. Coat well with the marinade cover and marinate in the refrigrator for 3-4 hours.
Place the chicken piece on high rack on combination 3-10 minutes, till tender. Turn the pieces over halfway through cooking time.
Then grill for 15 to 20 minutes resitioning the pieces frequently. Brush with a little oil 2-3 times for even coloring.
For the smoked effect
Place the grilled chicken pieces in a large dih.
Burn 2 pieces charcoal over a wire sieve, over the gas till they sart to smoke.
Place the charcoal pieces in a steel aluminium vessel.
Cover immdiately with a tight lid/ aluminium foil and allow to smoke for 5 minutes. The method of cooking depends on what type of microwave you have as different ovens have different ways of operating. You will have to refer to the directions pamphlet of your oven.
