Hello Ammas,

I would like to know if shahjeera is same as black cumin. What is shahjeera used for?

Yes Shah zeera is balck cumin and is used generally in moughlai cooking.

Hi abc!! Shahjeera is same as black cumin. This is different from regular cumin from its aroma. This is mostly used in gravy curries and masala rices. This is a little thinner than regular cumin.

Shahjeera are called 'caraway seeds' in english. Its usually used while making biryani dishes which are rich in flavor. For the usual day to day cooking, regular jeera or cumin is used.

Hi,abc,shah-jera is same as black cumin.You can use it in any kormas like navaratan korma.
