Subject: camcorders

i have a handycam sony hdd... i droped it in water...it got immersed into the water completely for few seconds.... (not salt watre)... i checked it wid de sony service centre..dey said its better to buy a new one...for de cost.. i gave it to another service centre...dey hav happened to change asn ic and say that the lcd alone does not work... n de mother board needs to b replaced ...but de model i hav is supposed to b advanced n its not available easily....so wat shud i do?? is der ne chance of gettin it repaired...??

hey.. that happened to me..i dropped it for about 3 seconds on the tub.. service centers havent repaired it at all.. some just use defects as alibis so they could earn money out from it.. and some centers might be able to repair it but the cost is much bigger than buying new one.. its ur decision now.....

U said that your cam was advanced. Perhaps its new? I'm sure they give you some warranty. Apply for a free repair. If that's not possible, you'll probably have to strugle for a few days searching for the parts.
