Subject: what is the name of the tablet that is used to surely postpone menstrual period by atleast 4-5 days?
I will be on vacation to India and will be at tirupathi for my son's hair ceremony on 13 feb.Unfortunately, my period date falls on this day.I want to avoid embarrassment. I want to know what is the name of the tablet that we get in India that will surely or guaranteely postpone my period for atleast 5 days.Anyone who have used such tab please let me know.
Its better for you to postpone it for few days -may be for seven to ten days.
If you want only postponement i think it will be the pragmatic and easier way then start taking Tab Norethisterone 5 mg ,one tab daily till you don't want your periods and when you want your periods stop taking Tablet you will have them witn in 7-10 days after stopping tabs.
Ovral G is widely prescribed in India as treatment of postponement of menses, endometriosis; dysfunctional uterine bleeding, including emergency treatment of acute episodes, dysmenorrhea, and menstrual irregularities. Each tablet contains - NorgestrelI.P.- 500 µg Ethinyl estradiol I.P.- 50 µg. For this postponment, one tablet should be taken daily starting with the 20th day i.e. eight days prior to expected date of menstruation. With this dosage, the menstrual period can be postponed to the 40th day i.e. about two weeks beyond the expected date. warning - side effects - Women who use Ovral-G should be strongly advised not to smoke. Use of Ovral-G increases the risk of venous thrombotic and thromboembolic events. Hence its use only be done with the permission of a gynecologist.
There is a home remedy for your need of pre-ponment(to get early) of your period i.e. to eat heat producing items, like payaya, Date fruit from the Middle Eastern desert and Pine apple by which you may try to get it an earlier date. this is a normal experience of women. Also these fruits negatively effect a pregnancy abortion.
There is no OTC product, since hormonal medicines are only for sale against prescription. One can prepone the periods by taking micronised progesterone such as uterogeston, susten etc. But this can cause breakthrough bleeding; all women's bodies are different. Years ago when I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen I simply skipped the placebo pills in order to avoid getting my period one month. I did see light spotting. You can consult your doctor for medication if you are not currently taking birth control pills.
I think it is difficult to advise you since sometimes when you are traveling period ceases or comes early anyway. I don't understand why you would be embarrassed, but I do understand that you would want to attend your son's ceremony! I don't know when you're traveling to India, but some of these hormonal tablets need to be taken well in advance of the time you would normally get your period in order to be effective, so it may be worth visiting your gyno here-- there is also birth control prescribed in the U.S. that blocks periods, although it is usually not taken temporarily like this.
Hi there, i just wanted to let you know that the use of the pill you want to use (the ones to delay the menstrual cycle) have progesterone as their main ingrediant. Some unwanted side effects are:
Poly-Cystic Ovarian Disorder (PCOD) Thrombosis or sudden formation of blood clots Fibroids in the uterus Ovarian cysts An ectopic pregnancy
the continued use can lead to:
Androgenic symptoms including excessive hair growth and androgenic acne. Fatal Deep Vein Thrombosis. Anaemia due to heavy periods. Irregular periods and weakness. Infertility in case of abuse.
You also need a doctor prescription (one from your gynocologist to be precise) as they are not over the counter drugs. I can't tell yo which pill to take rimarily because there are diffeent ones available and the only way to be sure is through a medical analysis, which noone is able to give you through the internet.
I strongly reccomend going to a doctor. This is also because hormones are not like vitamine C, they will have quiete an effect on your body and postponing your cycle can then render any oral contraceptive potentially less useful.
Don't do anything foolish, get n exam and only then take the right medication.
