Before joining any University, one has to ensure that the same is recognized by both UGC and DEC and approved by AICTE. Even if the same is not recognized any one of among the three, then you are advised to opt out of it. Visit the following sites for more information.
Distance education council DEC constituted under the Indira Gandhi national Open University act 1985 with the object inter alia of determination of standards for distance education in the country has prescribed relevant guidelines it is mandatory for all institutions to obtain approval of the DEC before commencing any programme course for degree diploma certificate through distance.
DEC has learnt that a number of institutions are offering programes through distance mode without approval or recognition by the DEC in a few cases deemed to be universities and state universities institutions have sought franchise to third parties and or beyond the territory of the state in which the parent institutions is located this does not have sanctions of DEC all the institutions have been asked to refrain from such offerings vide a letter dated may 13,2003 jointly signed by the chairman UGC, AICTE and DEC
It has to come to the notice of the DEC that many universities institutions are giving misleading advertisement in newspaper dailies stating the recognition of their degrees/diplomas/certificates by UGC or other regulatory bodies. This is to inform all that approval of DEC is mandatory for all the qualifications/degrees awarded through distance education by the universities as per Government of India Gazette Notification education are referred to the Distance Education Council by UGC. Therefore, the parents/students are cautioned that before they enroll for distance education in any Institution, they must be satisfied that the Institution has sanction for granting degrees/ diplomas/certificate for the course in question and that the in question has specific approval of DEC.
A list of approved institutions with their programmes are placed on website at http://www.dec.ac.in… or http://www.dec.ignou.ac.in… Further inquiries may be addressed to Director, Distance Education Council, DEC Building, IGNOU Campus, Maiden Garhi, New Delhi-110 068

Subject: Distance Education Programme by Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed ) University on 2007
Sub : Prayer for Information Regarding Distance Education in B.Tech Courses. Dear Sir,
This is for your kind information that distance education of Rajasthan Vidyapeeth had been approved (Provisional) by DEC vide letter no.DEC/Univ/State/07/5739 Dt. 3-9-2007 and it is valid upto one year i.e upto 2-9-2008.
Any Distance Education Programme(Techanical or Management) of Deemed does not mandatory for AICTE Approval vide LETTER OF Ministry of Human Resourse Development ,Dept. of Secondery & Heigher Education VideLetter No.F.2-1/2006 U.3(A) DT.7 April 2006.
But it is a matter of grate regret that Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed)university had published a Public Notice in the newspaper that you had discontinue the new admission in different courses under distance mode from 18th August 2005 and a declaration had been forwarded to UGC. But Rajasthan Vidyapeeth had already already start Distance Education course without prior permission from UGC.
UGC published a public notice in UGC website (www.ugc.as.in…) on October 2007 that without prior permission from UGC a Deemed University can not run Distance Education program and program will be run by university own service division , premises and staff not by private franchising. You can ask to VC of Rajasthan Vidyapeeth about permission for Distance Education Programme from UGC of September 2007 or Onward Programme .When permission from UGC ABOUT Distance Education Programme will be granted by UGC then you will admit to Rjasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed) University's any Service Division . Not to admit any Study Centre but to Admit own service Division of University of any Region after Email/Mail Clarification From VC of Rajasthan Vidyapeeth.
Wish you all the best and Reply your feed back to this mail in ammas website.
Rajastan university is recognized by UGC & DEC . It is not recognized by AICTE . But to answer your Query, Yes, you are eligible for getting into any of Govt organisations with this degree.
I have one suggestion for you : Chk out with Allahabad University, they offer lot of Distance education programmes. And the value of these cources are more than any other distance education university . for more : www.aaidudec.org… Also, if you can get into any of IGNOU(Indira Gandhi National Open University) courses, well and good.
