This information comes from my own knowledge.
When I was applying for MS in Financial Engineering(almost 6 yrs back). I had considered: 1. Columbia 2. Carnegie Mellon 3. Boston College. 4. Cornell (Joint prog b/w Industrial Engg & mgmt dept) I was advised that these have one of the best programs in MS finance. I had considered a mix of many factors including a good location (which will help you for jobs at a later time), affordability. If your recos are strong, undergrad scores are good: you could try these schools otherwise there are next rung of schools like, AAkron University, OH and some mid west state schools.
