Hi raji, Paruppu thengai is just a word and dont know where it came from. The shape is just like a cone and it uses mainly for all the functions and during ritual ceremonies too.

Hi,
if u open the old blouse carefully, u need not leave 1/2" allowance. After removing the stitches in the old blouse, i usually trim the edges of all the pieces neatly to take the paper cutting.
