I was told in western countries they still have a school system wherein students are detained for three years or so in the same class. A students was retained in 9th class for three years and the parents decided to send him to another type of school (Job corps) wherein they will be given vocational training.

Considering this our CBSE pattern of no failure upto 10th and also optional school/board exam in 10th and final only in12th is ideal. At least the students will be studying till 10/12 th

I think first or second time this system of no compulsory board exam for 10th has been implemented in CBSE. What is the reaction of teachers, parents, educationists for this. Please give your considered views briefly.
