Question:  Hi Ammas, I enjoy this site & I browse this site very regularly. My question: I have a little girl who is 51/2 yrs old.She is very sweet but of late she has started to bring home hair clips from school, that she finds lying on the shelf. She brings it home & then tells me. I've told her repeatedly that this is not acceptable. She says that I do not buy clips like the ones she's bringing. We're not depriving her of her anything? How do I correct her so she does not repeat this action again? Thank you for your help. gee

Subject:  Building up confidence
Question:  Dear Ammas,my son is 7 yrs old.According to his teachers,he is obedient,well-mannered and disciplined. I'm also satisfied with his studies. But his teachers say that he is rather shy. Also, while speaking on stage,he does not make eye contact.I try to praise him for his work like good drawing/coloring,good handwriting etc. But how do I convince him to look up and speak while performing on stage? Also,he is very submissive. If some other kid hits him,he doesn't hit back.I don't know how to make him practical in this selfish and mean world.

Tradition is to be observed for the first mundan only. After that you can do mundan whenever you prefer to do same. There is no hard and fast rules with regard to this.

Subject:  feeding time intervals
Question:  Thanks for your answer. But I have a query. I will have to join my work by the end of three months for my baby. So can I give her only formula milk instead of breastmilk? Will that be enough? Shouldnt i give her Cerelac too? If so, at what time intervals should the child be fed? Please advise.

You can give your child breastmilk till such time you join for duty. Introduce some other milk like cows's milk or tinned milk also to your baby so that the child will mot find it difficult to adjust
