Question:  Hi mathematicians/statisticians

Being a student i need the answer of the following from examination point of view. plz be short and precise:

1) Define statistics.

2) What is a normal probability distribution? what are the salient features of normal curve?

3) describe the importance of normal distribution in statistical theory.

4) what information is required to be known about a particular normal distribution before any probabilities can be calculated

5) Why it is always preferable to use standard normal distribution isolving real world problem?

Subject:  mathematical query
Question:  1.The total expense of a boarding house are partly fixed and partly variable with the number of boarders. The charge is Rs.70 per head when there are 25 boarders and Rs.60 when there are 50 boarders. Find the charge per head when there are 100 boarders.

please help me in solving such type of problems.

2.A person had to multiply two numbers. Instead of multiplying by 35, he multiplied by 53and the product went up by 540. What was the raised product? ans for Q2 is 1590. but i dont know how it was solved so please help me to get the reason.

  The answer can be very easily obtained by the following method: NOTHING IS MENTIONED ABOUT INITIAL AMOUNT AND WHO WILL GIVE THE AMOUNT TO THE WINNER!

  If B has won three games,that means A has lost three games and won three games,so totalnumber of games played were 3 + 3 = 6 but if A has win Rs 3 which means,total games played were 1+1+1+2+2+2 = 9

A gain = 6 Rs. A lost = 6 Rs.

A's net gain = 6-3 3 Rs. B has won 3 games and his credit is -3 Rs.
