so the people could have it all to themselves....... they named it greenland so people would go there..but it is really bad and icy. the people got iceland...which is sunny and hot all to themselves.

Green in Greenland doesnot means Green color actually.Greenland was also called Gruntland ("Ground-land") and Engronelant (or Engroneland) on early maps. Whether green is an erroneous transcript
