| Question: | |
We are Indian citizens living in US. My husband works for an IT company based in India and currently deputed on an assignment in US on H1 visa. We desperately want to adopt a child from Hyderabad, India. We are going to india next month to start the adoption proces. After filing the application for adoption, I plan to stay with my parents in hyderabad and my husband will have to come back after a month.
My three questions are
(1) We have our own house in another city in India, but I'll stay with my parents in Hyderabad throught out adoption process. Can the home study be done at my parents home as we plan to adopt from Hyderabad?
(2) Is my husband required to be in India for Home Study? If so, can the adoption agency inform us the date of home study atleast a week prior so that my husband can plan his travel.
(3) After adoption, Is there any law that restricts our baby's and our stay in India? If that is the case, how long we need to stay in India after adoption?
