| Pakodas are a common snack item that is
usually made as a tea time snack or as an
appetizer. Great for those cold days with
|List of ingredients:|
|1 ||cup ||besan or gram flour ||
|3/4 ||cup ||rice flour ||
|1 ||cup ||onions - chopped fine ||
|4 ||in number ||green chillies - chopped fine ||
|1 ||tbsp ||coriander leaves - chopped ||
|1 ||tbsp ||oil ||
|1 ||tsp ||curry leaves - optional ||
|1 ||tsp ||red chilli powder ||
|1 ||tsp ||salt or (to taste) ||
|For Deep Frying:|
|4 ||cups ||oil ||
|Step 1: Combine the besan and rice flour in a deep dish or mixing bowl.
Step 2: Heat the 1 tbsp of oil until hot.
Step 3: Pour the hot oil (from step 1) into the besan and rice flour mixture.
Step 4: Add the rest of the ingredients and mix. Add water to form a sticky dough. Do not
make the dough very thin.
Step 5: Heat the oil for deeep frying in a deep frying pan.
Step 6: Drop 1 tsp full of the pakoda dough into hot oil. Add as many spoonfulls as the
pan can hold. Fry until golden brown.
Step 7: Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.|
