Garam Pakodas
Pakodas are a common snack item that is usually made as a tea time snack or as an appetizer. Great for those cold days with 'Chai'.  

List of ingredients:
1 cup besan or gram flour  
3/4 cup rice flour  
1 cup onions - chopped fine  
4 in number green chillies - chopped fine  
1 tbsp coriander leaves - chopped  
1 tbsp oil  
1 tsp curry leaves - optional  
1 tsp red chilli powder  
1 tsp salt or (to taste)  
For Deep Frying:
4 cups oil  

Cooking procedure
Step 1: Combine the besan and rice flour in a deep dish or mixing bowl. Step 2: Heat the 1 tbsp of oil until hot. Step 3: Pour the hot oil (from step 1) into the besan and rice flour mixture. Step 4: Add the rest of the ingredients and mix. Add water to form a sticky dough. Do not make the dough very thin. Step 5: Heat the oil for deeep frying in a deep frying pan. Step 6: Drop 1 tsp full of the pakoda dough into hot oil. Add as many spoonfulls as the pan can hold. Fry until golden brown. Step 7: Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.
Storage tips:
Best when served hot.
Any additional information:
To make the pakodas crisper you can add more rice flour.
