Dessert : Sabu Dana Payasam

| 1 cup | sabu dana | |
| 3 cups | milk | |
| ½ cup | sugar | |
| 3 - 5 threads | saffron | |
| Garnish |
| a few | cashews roasted in ghee | |
| a few | almonds roasted in ghee | |
| a few spoons | ghee | |
| Cooking procedure |
| Heat milk and add the saffron, when the milk has boiled for some time, and has reduced in
consistency, add the sabu dana. Let them cook well in the milk. Once the sabu dana is well
cooked add your sugar and stir till dissolved. Cook for some more time and garnish. Please
don’t stir too much or over cook, otherwise your sabu dana will become a paste, and it wont
look good. Can be served hot or cold, or just at room temperature. |
