Dessert : Coconut Halwa

| 1 cup | fresh grated coconut | |
| 2 ½ cups | milk | |
| ½ cup | ghee | |
| 1 ½ cups | sugar | |
| Garnish |
| a handful | cashews roasted in ghee | |
| a handful | almonds roasted in ghee | |
| Cooking procedure |
Heat ghee in a pan, and add the grated coconut. Fry till the coconut turns golden brown. Now
add the milk and keep stirring till the milk has thickened well. Now add sugar. You can either
increase or decrease the amount of sugar depending on your taste. Keep stirring again, till it
is quite solid, but not too much. Your halwa is done.
You can garnish it with elaichi or kishmish or cashews roasted in ghee or almonds roasted in
ghee; or all of them. The choice is yours. |
