Rice : Jeera Rice (Cumin Rice)

Number of servings: 2

  Jeera / Cumin aids digestion. Therefore jeera rice, is very good, esp if you’ve been eating fatty foods. Also makes a good lunch box item.  

List of ingredients:
2 cups cooked rice  
2 spoons jeera  
1 spoon jeera powder  
3 - 4 green chillies chopped  
1 cinnamon stick  
1 - 2 bay leaves  
3 - 4 spoons butter or ghee  
salt to taste  
a handful cashews roasted in ghee  
a little chopped coriander leaves  

Cooking procedure
Heat butter in a skillet and add the jeera and fry till slightly brown, add the chillies, cinnamon stick, bayleaves, jeera powder and salt and fry for some more time. Add rice and fry for about 2 – 3 minutes. Garnish and serve.
