Rice : Jeera Rice (Cumin Rice)

Jeera / Cumin aids digestion. Therefore
jeera rice, is very good, esp if you’ve
been eating fatty foods. Also makes a good
lunch box item. |

| 2 cups | cooked rice | |
| 2 spoons | jeera | |
| 1 spoon | jeera powder | |
| 3 - 4 | green chillies chopped | |
| 1 | cinnamon stick | |
| 1 - 2 | bay leaves | |
| 3 - 4 spoons | butter or ghee | |
| | salt to taste | |
| Garnish |
| a handful | cashews roasted in ghee | |
| a little | chopped coriander leaves | |
| Cooking procedure |
| Heat butter in a skillet and add the jeera and fry till slightly brown, add the chillies,
cinnamon stick, bayleaves, jeera powder and salt and fry for some more time. Add rice and fry
for about 2 – 3 minutes. Garnish and serve. |
