Asparagus - Desi style snack

I have been to several Italian restaurants and they serve steamed asparagus batterred with something and meat and fried. I always was attracted to that dish but as I am a vegetarian could never have it. So one day I went home and decided I will make Asparagus bajjis at home. They were a hit. Try them. |

| 2 | cups | besan (split gram flour ) | |
| pinch of baking soda | |||
| salt to taste | |||
| red chilli powder to taste | |||
| Cooking procedure |

| a. Wash and clean the ASPARAGUS. b. Steam the Asparagus (5 minutes). c. In a large bowl mix the rest of the ingredients. Add luke warm water and make a batter of thick consistency. d. Heat the oil for frying on high. Dip steamed asparagus in the batter (cover fully) and put in hot oil. Bring heat to medium. Fry to golden brown or til the bubbles stop. (*NOTE* Repeat step d for all the asparagus alternating from high heat to medium). Enjoy the bajjis with Tea. |
