Cabbage Vada

Number of servings: 10

Cabbage vada is a easy snack that is tasty and can be made in a jiffy. It is a good snack to make when you have unexpected guests.  

List of ingredients:
3 cups cabbage (chopped into long pieces)  
1/2 cup onion (chopped into big pieces)  
2 in number green chillies (chopped fine)  
1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste  
1 tbsp coriander (cilantro) leaves - chopped  
1 tsp red chilli powder  
1 tsp salt (or to taste)  
2 cups besan (gram flour)  
For Deep frying:
4 cups oil  

Cooking procedure
Method: Mix all the ingredients for the vada in a mixing bowl with very little water (1/2 cup). Heat the oil in a deep bottomed pan. When the oil is hot, dropa small spoon full of the vada batter in the oil and deep fry until golden brown. Make the rest of the vadas the same way. Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
