Wash Idli Ravva. Grind Urad dal with enough water. Mix this with idli ravva and salt. Cover with a tight lid and place in a warm place for about 8 hours.
BEfore making idlies add the baking powder and mix well.
Apply little ghee on the idli plates and spread it with your fingers. Now pour the batter into the idli plates and steam for 10 - 15 minutes.
After turning the heat off, keep it on the stove for another 10 minutes and remove the lid.
Serve with coconut chutney or ginger chutney.
