A: Dear Durga, do not panic. You can take cereal for her. Cereal helps you because it is kind of instant food for the babies. Also you can buy bottled fruits pulp which is suitable for her age. You can buy this stuff in the superstores. If she is used to drinking juice (if you did not yet start her with juice you could do that as she is 5month old) you can buy bottled juice and feed her that. They do give food for babies as well if you talk to him about it before hand. They?ll follow your specifications and do give you according to your need if it is veg or non-veg. Yep! Q: Hi Friends, My dd is turing one in a weeks time. Me and my husband both work and during the day I drop my baby at my moms place where the nanny comes and pick her up back in the evening on the way back from work. Then come back and prepare dinner and feed the baby and play with her and then put her to sleep.Putting her to sleep means taking her to the bed and switching off the lights and lying down besides her and BF her..she falls asleep sucking in about 20 mins and then I slowly slide off from her. Actually she has been sleeping with us since her birth and right now I am breastfeeding her only during nights(bedtime). Thankfully till now she has been waking up only 2-3 times at night and sucks on my breast and goes to sleep immediately. Now I think it is time for me to wean her off these night feeds as well. What to I do? How to put her to sleep? I dread at the thought of going through this phase? Has anyone else been in the same boat as I am? How tough is it going to be? How many sleepless nights should I endure? I am really scared to start off? How do I put her to sleep? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

A: Dear Anu, if your baby makes it a point to suck your breast and go to sleep then it's time for you to realize that she got habituated to it. This habit is not good for baby is especially when they are one year old. It?s high time for you to get her out of that habit. Moreover getting up in between her sleep should not be the way. Infants from 9 months on should go to bed and should not wake up in between. To be precise they should sleep like us, going to bed in night and getting up in the morning. The later habits they form tend to remain and gets tougher on the mother to let them out of it.
